NOKTUN MAKRAT

Swimming past the shallow shores of Polypanta (periscoped in previous posts) following the sea floor and descending with it, we’ll eventually reach the great, majestic coral wall, which marks the boundaries of Polypanta’s reign. Just beyond it, we will feel the water temperature suddendly dropping: this indicates we are close to Seila. This is the strongest current on the planet, (about three times more powerful than the Antartic Circumpolar Current on planet Earth) capable of moving about 400 million cubic metres of water every second. As you can imagine, traversing it is a very dangerous ordeal...but we persist.
On the other side we find ourselves in the deep waters of Noktun Makrat. Being isolated from the rest of the oceans, its flora and fauna have followed a unique evolutionary trajectory, resulting in bizarre beings that can only be found here. We proceed in utter amazement of what we are witnessing.
Above are clips from some footage from the expedition.
