SAMHAIN

The 1st of November signs the end of the agricultural year: once the fruit season is over, the earth, which has welcomed the seeds of wheat destined to be reborn in spring, enters a period of stillness: the cattle come down from high pastures, the final crops are gathered, and everything is prepared to face the winter’s long breath.

Samhain is the ideal threshold, not just between seasons but between worlds. The boundaries that usually hold up throughout the year are thinned, allowing entities from different dimensions to linger in our space.

This time I felt inspired to make something more illustrative, drawing inspiration from folk horror.
